When you donate to the ReStore, it begins a cycle of support that benefits our community. Store inventory is primarily comprised of donated items, which are quickly prepped for sale and displayed on the showroom floor at deeply discounted rates for our customers. Once sold, 100% of the profits are donated to Habitat Chesapeake to cover the costs associated with providing decent, affordable homeownership opportunities to hardworking family partners in need.
Plus, your donation also benefits the environment, as recycling diverts millions of pounds of materials from landfills. So, while your door, sofa, plumbing, light fixture or appliance alone can’t build a home, together we can build multiple homes for deserving local families.
Habitat Chesapeake ReStores accepts a wide variety of items. For a full list of donatable items, please review our donation guidelines. Learn about the donation process and schedule your donation below. Thank you for your support!
Have your donation picked up
When donating large items, the ReStore team is happy to pick up from inside or outside your home or office. Donation pickups are scheduled by location to ensure the greatest fuel efficiency and lowest cost.
To schedule your donation, please submit this donation form. A member of the ReStore team will contact you within approximately 48 hours to finalize your donation and schedule a pickup date.
Drop your donation off
Each of the four Habitat Chesapeake ReStore locations accepts donations during regular business hours. If you plan to drop off a donated item, please let us know in advance by completing this donation form, indicating the drop off. Then simply drop the item off at the store most convenient to you. ReStore staff and volunteers will be on hand to assist you with the drop off.
Make a financial donation
While the ReStore is most known for accepting in-kind donations, financial contributions are also needed to fund operational costs, particularly those related to trucks and gas used to pick up donations. This provides a great opportunity for individuals like you to support the Habitat Chesapeake ReStore in a different way. Make your financial donation now.
Please note, all contributions, including gifts of materials and time, are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
